When the boy only opens up to hospital worker, Marlie Foxe, Evan enlists her to become the child’s guardian to help him and his German Shepherd, Blue, track down who has been taking the children and why. Marlie resists being around children after a tragedy three years ago but maybe helping Evan and Noah will bring her back to life again. Evan may lose his future while relentlessly searching for the answers to his past.
The characters from the other books are prominently featured including Deck and Tori’s wedding but each can be read as a standalone novel. Well researched police procedures along with complex characters with depth and gorgeous dogs combine for a story that will draw the reader in and keep them engaged.
