Ah, memories. Whether real or imagined a book is alive and well in the newest and final installment of the Sisters of Paradise series. Located in Spanish Fort, Texas, Paradise had been a brothel, now reclaimed as the family home of Mary and her seven daughters. Mary ultimately married the man hired to renovate Paradise and Joe Clay became a husband along with the dad of seven little girls. We’ve gloriously watched these girls become young women and most settled back in Spanish Fort as married women.
Two daughters are left, Bo and Rae. Bo returning from an unsuccessful attempt to become the next great Nashville performer. For now, she is going to help Aunt Bernie with her advice blog and dating program. Rae was on the police force and now has to adjust to daytime hours. Mother Mary and dad Joe Clay are simply happy they are back home.
I am a self-confessed romantic at heart. This is probably one of the reasons why Carolyn Brown takes up a huge amount of space in my library. I have signed bookmarks. Doesn’t that say it all?
Family, friends, faith, love and a healthy dose of sass are central to Carolyn Brown’s works and probably her life as well. We fans know her sign-off to her Mr. B and their long marriage has been a message to us all. In COMING HOME TO PARADISE we get another chance to spend time with friends we’ve met in the first books of the series and are delighted to meet and make new ones.
It’s the season for family and in COMING HOME TO PARADISE Mary Jane and her brood are once again caught up in another one of Aunt Bernie’s matchmaking schemes. Only this time with a delightful twist. It seems as if the twins, Rae and Bo, might have found their own Mr. Rights. Aunt Bernie is not happy with their selections. Bo and Rae are searching for their place in Spanish Fort. Searching for possible new careers. Each is happy to be home. So we will sit back and enjoy watching Aunt Bernie steal the show with her sass and antics. Two little twin girls steal the hearts of the entire family. And possibly wind up with some new plans for weddings on the horizon.
Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face COMING HOME TO PARADISE is a joy to read. Carolyn Brown with her picks of music, songs and relationships has always found a place in my heart. This is entertainment at its literary best.
All seven sisters are finally home for Christmas, but can the last two find love like the others?
As Endora Simmons plans her Christmas wedding, she's delighted to have her last two sisters, Rae and Bo, finally back in Spanish Fort, Texas. Endora figures if she keeps them busy, they won't have time to think about leaving again. So, Endora talks Rae into teaching Sunday school; as a former police officer, surely Rae can corral the rowdy kids—the most high-spirited being Sheriff Gunner's twin daughters—into making Christmas decorations for the upcoming pageant. Bo helps out by taking over the community Christmas program. She's also been working with Aunt Bernie on her new venture, a monthly speed-dating night at a bar just over the river in Oklahoma—and boy, does she have her eye on that handsome bartender. With all the Christmas preparations in high gear, will Rae and Bo still find time to fall in love?
