Every time I opened my Kindle, an ad for one of Pamela Kelly’s books would be there. I was instantly drawn to her beautiful covers and when I saw the cover for THE SEASIDE SISTERS I knew I had to read it. THE SEASIDE SISTERS is my second time reading Ms. Kelley. I can’t wait to read more of her stories! Hannah is really trying to write her second book, but she has a serious case of writer's block. She is struggling with a recent family tragedy.
THE SEASIDE SISTERS is a slow-burn contemporary story that I was pulled into from the very first page. To be honest, I fell in love with the cover the minute I saw it. I knew I would read it anyway because I had been seeing Ms. Kelly’s books over and over, but the cover really pulled me in. I would love to be sitting in one of those chairs on that beautiful beach with a book! I loved everything about this wonderful story and I’m excited to recommend it to my reading friends. Pamela Kelley has a way of grabbing her readers and she never lets us go. I am truly hoping that Pamela Kelley will turn this into a series because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. Everyone should make sure they have a copy of THE SEASIDE SISTERS in their beach bag this summer!
THE SEASIDE SISTERS takes a turn that will make you unable to put this beautiful story down. If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber, you are going to love this author’s books! Hannah decides to leave Brooklyn, New York to spend the summer with her aunt and hopefully reset. Her sister Sara still lives there and Hannah would love to spend more time with her as they just lost their mother recently. Hannah will also have a chance to reconnect with Spencer, a grumpy neighbor of Aunt Maddie's. THE SEASIDE SISTERS is filled with twists and turns and had me staying up way too late one night to finish! I had to know where Pamela Kelley was taking us and what would happen to Hannah and Sara. There is so much heart in Pamela’s writing that I was left with a huge smile on my face and my heart very happy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Fresh Fiction. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.
Brooklyn-based Hannah is a bestselling author struggling to write her second book after personal losses. Her older sister, Sara, still lives in Chatham, Cape Cod, where they grew up, and is married with four children. Once a dedicated librarian, Sara dreams of reviving her love affair with literature, but instead, she is stuck with too many family responsibilities and a fizzling marriage.
When Hannah gets the chance to retreat to her aunt's oceanfront house in Chatham for the summer, it seems like just the thing to get her creative juices flowing. And she’ll be able to spend more time with Sara, who is eager to find her way back into the workforce, to do something rewarding and book-related. The pair will spend the summer making friends, rekindling romance— especially Spencer, an old acquaintance from high school-turned very hot grump— and opening themselves up to the magic of books and the beach.
Perfect for fans of Mary Kay Andrews, Susan Mallery and Brenda Novak, The Seaside Sisters will delight and charm you as easily as an ocean breeze.
