Ramses Howell is a self-made billionaire, who likes playing games and getting what he wants. When Blake Abbot catches his eye, he is determined to add her to his “want” list, but Blake has plans of her own, and being owned is not one of them. This MINX is a woman who knows her own mind and isn’t above playing whatever games must be played to win.
Blake isn’t at all ashamed of being who she is and getting top money is always a plus. But when Ramses Howell starts being a pain, she decides to add him to her “had” list. Little does she know that once they begin, they will both be winners or losers in this game that includes their hearts.
MINX is a very intriguing, different kind of romance. It might bring the movie Pretty Woman to mind but within moments those thoughts are gone into a darker, different path. Both Ramses and Blake are very much into being the ones in control of everything that they deal with. It takes a lot of trust to submit, but who will submit first – or will it be a simultaneous submission? Read MINX to find out.
The two characters were well written, and you could almost see the smirks and half laughs as one tries to get one over on the other. Both are ambitious, intelligent and find that they do have a lot in common. Author Sophie Lark gives information on their pasts that allow readers to understand them better and see how they are the perfect match.
Having read a number of author Ms. Lark’s books, I have come to expect the unexpected from her and though I am not a real big fan of BDSM it is usually well done and not usually over the top. There is a lot of steam and kink but also you can see the real people behind the facades and the darkness they share. Just a personal note, the pet play that is involved was a bit much for me, but then that is why flipping pages works so well. Otherwise, MINX was a well-written, fast-paced read.
