THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER by Lucy Score is the first book in the Knockemout series and it will make readers, fans of Lucy Score, forever, just like it did to me. Even though this amazing story contains quite a bit of heat, hot hot heat, way more than I'm used to, it blew me away. There is so much more to this story than the open-door sex scenes, trust me on that. I devoured THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER and I loved every word of it. Naomi ran away from her wedding, literally still in her wedding dress when she finds herself in Knockemout, Virginia. She is there to bail out her evil twin sister, Tina, once again. When Naomi gets out of her car in search of coffee, her piece of garbage sister steals her car and her purse! Holy cow, what an opening to my very first taste of a wonderful Lucy Score story! 570 pages and they just flew by. I went into this story blind and honestly, it was the best way as many others have read it already and I didn't want any spoilers!

Naomi finds herself being mistaken for Tina as soon as she walks into the coffee shop and suddenly a big gorgeous grumpy man is screaming in her face! Say hello to Knox! The pages of THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER are filled with quite a bit of suspense and many many twists and turns! Naomi also discovers that she has a niece named Waylay, who stole my heart almost right away. The banter between Naomi and Knox is such fun and once you meet Knox's brother, Nash and the way the two brothers interact, you will find yourself giggling out loud quite a bit, just like I did!

I feel like I was the last person to read THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER. I loved every second I spent with this story. Small-town romance is one of my favorite troupes, but this had much more. The pages are filled with enemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine, fake dating, single parenting, and all of it is so heart-wrenching and suspenseful. Knox is so grumpy and at times, I wanted to give him a swift kick, but the way he watches out and protects Way and Naomi melted my heart over and over. I am so excited to continue with this series. The next story is about Nash, Knox's brother. Lucy Score is now on my author radar and THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER will stay with me for a very long time!

SUMMARY

Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon.

Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride. Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer. Usually in that order.

Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.

There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.

At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.
