MIDNIGHT RUIN takes readers back into Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus wild world. The romance is steamy as expected but there is some submissive kink with Eurydice playing the dominant to her ex-boyfriend who had returned just when she moved on with her new lover. Charon is willing to let her decide what to do with Orpheus, but he isn’t happy to see the man back, except that he is also attracted to him. This kink leads to a very different triad dynamic. The political side has taken over from the mythology that was in the first books. I enjoyed and miss the glitz and glamour that filled the earlier books in the series. It felt a bit repetitive when it came to the political side of the world. Though, I guess, for those who pick up MIDNIGHT RUIN and haven’t read the others it will help make it more of a standalone. All in all, a very good read, and the ending will give you a – wait that can’t be the end – moment and leave you wanting the next offering right now.
