Lucy Baker had a nice life until FBI agents approached her, claiming her fiancรฉ, Jonathan, is a murderer, drug dealer and money launderer. He also bought an expensive home, cars and boats in her name, then listed himself as beneficiary. The FBI uses this evidence to finally convince Lucy to help them put him away.
Thanks to her dog, Sadie, and the neighbor dog, Clueless Cooper, Lucy is introduced to Cooper's good-looking owner, lawyer Wylie Wilson. When the dogs refuse to be separated, Lucy has to dog-sit. Taking them for a walk, she slips on the ice, spraining her ankle and hitting her head. What she thinks is just a headache turns into voices. Now not only does she have to deal with her fiancรฉ's false identity and the FBI, but also the ability to hear what other people are thinking.
Wylie is instantly attracted to Lucy and is more than willing to help with her dilemma. Wylie is relieved when Lucy declares she doesn't love her fiancรฉ, and after putting things in prospective, realizes she never did.
As the pieces start falling together, Lucy and Wylie get closer. After getting snowed in together, they come to realize they're meant to be together. But not knowing where Jonathan is, or what he's planning for Lucy, causes tensions to run high.
This is a very exciting read. Lucy and Wylie have strong personalities and work well together. I liked the banter between Lucy, Wylie and his friends and had a few laughs. In the end, I couldn't help thinking this story would make a good movie.
