The day Brenda woke up naked next to a stranger was the day
that changed her life. Feeling daring and adventurous, she
vowed to break out of her wimpy mold. A good start was
lingerie. She wandered straight across the street into a
lingerie shop and suddenly began wearing skivvies that
would make a sailor blush. And they'd probably make that
sailor pretty determined to get her into bed if she ever
let anyone see them.
Of course, hot underwear didn't change her job as a DJ. No,
that took Nick. Nick, the gorgeous hunk she woke up next to
but had no idea who he was. They ran into each other and
the attraction was still there, but while this time, they
exchanged names, they forgot to exchange phone numbers.
When Nick from a rival radio station starts broadcasting,
looking for Brenda, she figures out that her mystery man is
another DJ. Their suddenly very public romance adds stress
to her already stressful life. Brenda's mom is seeing a man
many years her junior (and a hot guy Brenda herself had
considered asking out) and her brother is crashed on her
sofa going through a nasty divorce.
There's just something about Brenda you've got to love. I
think there's a little part of her in all of us. Nick is
one of the better heroes to come along in a while; he's a
great combination of sweet, thoughtful and sexy. What more
could you ask for? CONFESSIONS OF A LINGERIE ADDICT is on
the surface one of those funny romance books that are so
popular these days. But it has an element of life truth
running through it, too, that raises it out of the realm of
fluff. (Don't get me wrong, I like fluff. It's just nice to
have something else occasionally!) Brenda's relationship
and acceptance of her mother as a woman hits close to home,
as do her insecurities about herself. I love Ms. Ashley's
writing style and her sense of fun that shows through in
every page. Great job and a good read!
When shy Brenda Scott wakes up New Year's morning with a
man she does not know, she thinks she is the kind of girl
who does, and figures she should dress the part. Under her
sensible clothes she wears the silkiest, slinkiest, sexiest
lingerie she can find. When the mystery man turns up again,
he wants to find the wild, wicked woman Brenda must now
learn how to be. A romantic comedy, with underwear.
