HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is the first novel by Katy Brent and I absolutely love it! I enjoy reading psychological thrillers and if you can add some humorous parts to it as Brent has, then you have yourself a winner in my book. With the title alone, one must not take this too seriously, however, if it has you curious, you will not regret picking this one up. It is full of surprises which adds to the suspense.
Kitty Collins is one of those Instagram celebrities, so to speak. Everywhere she goes, someone wants a selfie. So, she attracts a lot of attention. Some that she does not want, but she has a way of getting rid of the unwanted attention. Once she starts, there is no stopping her.
One night she is followed home from a nightclub. She just tried to keep him at bay, but somehow she ended up killing him. Of course, that is not what she meant to do, but oops! It happened. The amazing part is… she got away with it. Kitty decided why stop there? Let’s face it, there are too many men out there that might just get what they deserve in Kitty’s book.
It is not every day you find a novel on how to murder someone and get a laugh out of it, but that is what this novel is meant to do. Kitty, the main character, is very likable even though in reality she is probably someone you would not be able to stand. You find yourself rooting for her even when you think, maybe she shouldn’t. HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is a story of how one girl gets revenge. Katy Brent’s debut novel is one that will be hard to put down and you will be glad you picked it up. And just wait until you read the author's backstory of where she came up with the idea for the novel as well!
He was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone.
I hadn’t intended to kill him of course. But I wasn’t displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it.
That’s where my addiction started…
I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.
A deliciously dark, hilariously twisted story about friendship, love, and murder. Fans of My Sister the Serial Killer, How to Kill Your Family and Killing Eve will love this wickedly clever novel!
