Romance Erotica Sensual

Luca, the MAFIA HEIR, is doing a little business that he feels is going wrong when a gorgeous woman walks out a door and witnesses the happenings. He saves her and with one look he knows what he wants, though to be fair he gives her an out. She tries but she doesn't get far and he is rescuing her again... This time he plans to keep her safe and in his arms.

Olivia D’Amato is just finishing up her job and as she leaves she accidentally witnesses a deal not going so well. The handsome man who chases her down tries to help her run and hide, knowing the men who were with him rarely leave live bodies behind. When she tries to run and is almost run down by the cartel, she has no choice but to go with the future don.

MAFIA HEIR is the first bok of author Sabine Barclay's Mancinelli Brotherhood. If you read her Bratva books, then you have met Luca and the others in a somewhat less-than-flattering light. Livy is quite naive about the mafia and while she learned so did the readers. It was very interesting to find that she too had ties to that world she didn't know about. Ties that could save her life or end it depending on how quickly Luca moves.

MAFIA HEIR is a great beginning to what will be a six-book series. Things that were question marked from the Bratva series get some answers here. Plus, if you like steamy reads, this one fits the bill. But there is also romance as Luca tries to give Livy everything he can. The family dynamic is explained and family members are thoroughly introduced--pasts are explained to readers so they are able to understand where each person stands and why.

The one drawback I had was that a lot of the dialogue, which was well done and interesting, was first in Italian and then translated. I personally don't speak the language so it was a struggle to get through that and the translations that followed. This seemed to me to slow down while reading this well-done, action-packed, distinct storyline. Aside from that, MAFIA HEIR was exactly what I had hoped it would be: a fantastic read by Sabine Barclay.
