The Kutsenko men and their cousins Andreyev might be Russian mafia but they understand and respect family and to them, women and children are off limits to their crimes. These men were mere boys when they were pulled into the mafia but despite it all, family is the most important thing to them. Mikhail (Misha) Andreyev feels exactly the same and when he first encounters Katerina Vasilieva on the plane heading overseas. There was something about her brings out that protectiveness in full force. When he finds out why she has returned to Russia he and his "brothers" are all ready to help protect her.
Katerina Vasilieva had left Russia, her abusive boyfriend, and her Bratva father behind. But when her sister goes missing, she comes back ready to do whatever she can. She never expects an encounter with an American-raised Bratva member to change her life. She ran once, but she has a feeling that running isn't going to work this time.
BRATVA JEWEL is the sixth and final novel of author Sabine Barclay's Ivankov Brotherhood series featuring the families of the Kutsenko and cousins Andreyev. This is Misha and Katerina's story, but it is a little different than the other books in the series. Katerina knows exactly what she is getting into when she allows Misha and his family to help her with the reason she returned home. There are a number of times when she loses it a bit and he is there to help her come back, easing her guilt as she falls in love. There are times when he is very confused about what he should do for her but men who are falling in love are often clueless.
BRATVA JEWEL brings back members of the family, as well as other mafia families who become involved in this situation they all find themselves in. Sorry, but to say much more will give away a large part of the plot. Sufficed to say, Ms. Barclay knows just how to weave a story that romance readers can enjoy.
