Women's Fiction Contemporary | Romance

Kit Teague is headed home after the death of her mother. She and her twin sister and the rest of her family are estranged. Kit wants to fix the rift caused by her leaving with the family she left behind. Beau Sutton moved back home after his wife died to raise his son. He’s determined to make a go of the new oyster business he and his family started. Beau is about to be challenged by a woman who wants to save her family business. A former crush may be reunited when these two find themselves working and spending time together trying to work out a solution to their problems. A trip home might just be the answer to all their difficulties.

Janet Dailey’s New Americana series continues with the sixth book, HOPE CREEK. Kit returns home after an estrangement from her family and especially her twin sister. She’ll face anger, hurt, and attraction as she tries to work through her family problems. Beau moved home to raise his son and finds a new way to farm oysters that just may change the business and alienate all the other fishermen in the area.

HOPE CREEK takes these characters and throws them into emotionally filled situations, and tensions arise when neighbors are at odds with one crossing to the other side. An attraction and an old crush complicate the situation as well, along with twin sisters who just may have a crush on the same man. When a major storm heads their way, it might be the catalyst to help the healing process and bring rival families together to repair both the physical and emotional turmoil throughout the story.

Set on the islands off of the South Carolina coast, HOPE CREEK shows readers what life is like on a small fishing island. One family clings to the old ways of running their business while another tries a new way to keep things afloat. But they’ll have to figure out a way to co-exist.

Janet Dailey’s story of a reignited crush, a family working through the damage a mother left behind and finding a way to heal and move on. HOPE CREEK is an emotional, heartfelt story of finding your way back to family and moving on while finding hopefully love. Lives are forever changed as a result of family and neighbors finding their way through difficulties.

Janet Dailey, as always, keeps you wondering if her characters will find their happily ever after or if the obstacles are just too much for them to overcome. As a fan of Janet Dailey, I’m looking forward to reading the next installment in her New Americana series.

SUMMARY

Fans of Linda Lael Miller and Robyn Carr will adore this heartfelt romance set in South Carolina, as old rivalries, new ventures, and long-lost loves converge when the daughter who once walked away from the dark chaos of her childhood returns to her Lowcountry hometown, hoping to put the past to rest.

For Kit Teague, the island of Hope Creek, South Carolina, is filled with joyful memories of being out on the water with her beloved father. But her small hometown is also the place where her mother battled mental illness—and lost. Returning home to put her mother to final rest, Kit discovers a family divided by grief—and wounds so deep her twin sister has turned against their father—and Kit. Not only has Viv moved up the creek to join a rival fishing business, she’s barricaded herself behind Beau Sutton, the boy Kit once loved from afar. The man who stirs something deep within Kit even now . . .

Amid old-fashioned oyster roasts, starlit outings on the creek and sun-drenched fishing expeditions, Kit finds hope for a new life and renewed love. Neither the whispered scandals of the past nor the rift between their families will keep her from discovering the joy she and Beau can share…
