SURRENDERING TO HUNT is Jennifer Ryan's second book in the Wyoming Wildes series which is a spinoff from the Wild Rose Ranch series. In the first book, we met recovering addict, Chase, and his baby momma, Shelby. This book spotlights Chase's brother, Hunt, who is a cowboy turned cop and wild child hairdresser, Cyn, who is best friends with Shelby. Cyn and Hunt know each other since Hunt regularly gives out speeding tickets to Cyn, but the catalyst for their personal interaction is police incidents with Cyn's sister and her boyfriend. The boyfriend also happens to be Hunt's childhood best friend. Warning: the book contains graphic and disturbing portrayals of domestic violence.
Although the storyline includes some suspense that is interesting and enjoyable, I felt the characters jumped from adversarial acquaintances to planning their forever HEA way too quickly. However, SURRENDERING TO HUNT is a sweet read that gives plenty of page time to other characters from the series. Looking forward to reading the book that focuses on the third brother, Max.
