Romance Paranormal

All Elodie MacLean wants to do is find some peace. The past is never the past in Skye and especially not the wild past and pains she had suffered and had caused. She isn't made of some kind of IRON EMBER; she is a woman with no magic and a past no one wants to forgive.

Scott Ryan is on a mission to find out who is killing Druids and how to stop them. He comes to Skye and falls in love with the island and his quarry. His leader has sent him to find Elodie, but his ultra-confidence is lost to this woman who doesn't trust. Can he conclude his mission and keep the woman who quickly stole his heart?

Author Donna Grant has a way with magical beings that makes them so realistic you want them to be a part of your world. Luckily Ms. Grant shares her many fascinating worlds with her readers giving us romance, danger, intrigue, and real life in the pages of her books and IRON EMBER is one of those. So many secrets on both sides but the slow building of trust almost implodes with the truth.

Elodie lost her magic and what she learns about the night her father died will have readers wanting to comfort the girl she was as well as the woman she had become. There are times when protection, even that that is intended for the good, can go too far. Scott, I have to admit, at first was not one of my favorite heroes Ms. Grant has come up with - he was just too sure of himself and his ability to get answers and walk away. I was glad to see him knocked down a peg or two and become the man Elodie desperately needed in her life.

IRON EMBER is the well-written, well-thought-out beginning to a new Skye Druid series. And with the ending, you can see that there is still much that needs to be done at Skye Island to make things right in the Druid world again. This book will leave you wanting more - in a good impatient way.

SUMMARY

Delve into the thrilling first installment of the all-new Skye Druids series by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant, where magic reigns and danger abounds.

Skye isn’t just an island. It’s a home. A refuge. But not to Elodie MacLean. Not anymore. Tragedy tore her world apart and then took the one thing she felt made her whole. She vowed she’d never return, but that’s exactly where she ends up. Now, surrounded by the ghosts of her past, Elodie must navigate her version of Hell and try to make peace with herself and her family. But someone or something doesn’t want her on Skye, and she finds herself attacked—and this time not by her personal demons.

Scott Ryan has a mission: uncover who has been killing Druids and why. When his quest takes him to the beautiful Isle of Skye, he doesn’t think anything could captivate him more than the land itself—until he lays eyes on the breathtaking and confident beauty his leader sent him to find. However, it’s clear that she has trust issues, and he can’t reveal his plans—at least, not yet. But he’s always been sure of his ability to sway a person, and she’s a challenge he's more than happy to accept, especially when he finds he will do anything to protect her.

With so much history and so many secrets, victory is anything but guaranteed for the couple and their allies. And the forces at work, those who wish to rule the Scottish isle and all those who reside there, have a plan that nobody will see coming
