Romance Comedy

When Jada wanders into a cupcake shop with her friend, she has no idea that it will change her life. Jada's having a tough time because she dumped Mr. Perfect on a reality TV show instead of becoming engaged. Now the world hates her. She snarks about the cupcakes in the bakery to her friend not realizing that Donovan, the owner is behind her.

Donovan takes exception to Jada's comments. He gifts her a cupcake and watches her eat it. When she states it's not bad, he's dumbfounded. No one can resist the cupcakes. Donovan, an NFL player who loves to bake, opened the shop with two teammates. The shop is losing money after a great opening. Donovan's struggling to figure out why.

After the exchange, both believe that the incident is behind them. However, when Donovan walks into a meeting with the team owner the next day, Jada is there. Unbeknownst to him, Jada is the owner's granddaughter. Mrs. T has some thoughts; she wants Jada to find direction She wants Jada to hold down a job for six months before she can gain access to her trust fund. Donovan's bakery would be the perfect place. Neither Jada nor Donovan are thrilled.

On the first day on the job, Jada almost burns down the kitchen. Jada panics when a TV producer enters the shop looking for gossip; Jada claims Donovan is her boyfriend, the man she couldn't stop thinking about on the show. Thrown together, Jada and Donovan agree to fake date for both their sakes – to help restore Jada's reputation and to bring up the cupcake sales.

Hopefully, this is the start of a new trilogy surrounding the cupcake shop and the NFL players. There's so much to love about this book from the banter between Jada and Donovan to the bromances between the guys to the reality TV secondary plot. Drama, chemistry, and romance weave everything together. You can't help but root for the bakery and the romance. Warning: this book might make you crave cupcakes.

SUMMARY

A reality star and a cupcake-baking football player pretend to be a couple in order to save his bakery in this sweet and sexy romance from Jamie Wesley, Fake It Till You Bake It.

Jada Townsend-Matthews is the most reviled woman in America after turning down a proposal on a reality dating show. When she comes home to lick her wounds, Jada finds herself working at San Diego's newest cupcake bakery, Sugar Blitz, alongside the uptight owner and professional football player Donovan Dell.

When a reporter mistakenly believes Jada and Donovan are an item, they realize they can use the misunderstanding to their advantage to help the struggling bakery and rehabilitate Jada's image. Faking a relationship should be simple, but sometimes love is the most unexpected ingredient.
