Romance Paranormal
In a world growing darker by the minute can they find peace or learn to live in a HARMONY OF FIRE. The We are magical beings walked in the world long before humans. Much longer than the etherealists - humans who are born with magic and targeted by the We.
At only nine years old Alice's soul was tied to a We against her will. She managed to escape the powerful and evil being to become a trained weapon against them in hopes of some day being free. She meets up with Owen - also a etherealist who is trying to protect his friends and family as they travel in a band. When danger arises he has no choice but to return to his hometown and there he and Alice begin to work together as they make a plan to free them all of this particular We.
HARMONY OF FIRE is an amazing world built in such a descriptive way that you will be able to see it all easily. Owen and Alice are very well fleshed out and likable as are the other secondary characters. There is very strong chemistry between them that seems very realistic. The others fit in nicely with the storyline and with each other. You can feel the darkness that these magical humans must deal with and fight to escape.
As HARMONY OF FIRE is book one of Alice and Owen there is by necessity a lot of descriptions and laying out a map of this new and exciting world. However, a few times it seems to make the book drag a bit when sometimes simple things were over worked.
I do recommend giving HARMONY OF FIRE a chance and I believe you will enjoy the characters and the excitement of this new world.
SUMMARY
The We—beings who existed long before humans ever did, filled with powerful magic—walk among us. Owen and Alice are both etherealists—rare humans born with magic who are targets for those We that wish to take it from them. At nine years old and against her will, Alice’s soul was tied to one such powerful and evil We. She escaped and was trained to be a weapon so she might one day break the bond and safely return home. Everything is going to plan…until she meets Owen. Owen is a musician who is trying to outrun his past while keeping those around him safe in an increasingly dangerous world. Owen keeps them on the move until a band of hunters crosses their path. Owen must go home—a place he swore he’d never return to—and seek protection from the We who could destroy them. And then he meets Alice. Only through finding each other do either Alice or Owen have a chance of survival.
