Charlotte Locke is a legacy (practically born and raised) member of Section 47 - a secret agency that deals with terrorists and criminals that other agencies cannot. Little does this analyst know that having A SENSE OF DANGER is going to throw her into the action she isn't sure she wants or needs but the cleaner (aka assassin) she is certainly interested in.
Desmond "Dez" Percy is also a legacy and he is also one of the elite cleaners of the section. But to get what he wants he needs Charlotte. It isn't until later that he realizes that he also wants this magical woman almost as much as he does his revenge on the mole that cost him his team and his best friend.
A SENSE OF DANGER is a WOW! Author Jennifer Estep gives her readers a very intense, magical (in more ways than they can imagine) read. Charlotte is a synesthesia - she senses danger and distinguishes between truth and lies. A very handy thing to have when you are pulled into the spying world as she has been. Dez is very intriguing - he is a government assassin, but with a complex personality. He is determined to find out who betrayed him and his team. He also has magical powers and his deals with touch. You have to read A SENSE OF DANGER to find out exactly how he uses his talents and why he is so driven.
A SENSE OF DANGER is action packed - with things blowing up right and left with our couple almost done in a couple of times. This is a mysterious setting and right in the beginning you wonder who the mole is and how can they be found out - without either of them getting themselves killed or betrayed again.
The tension between this couple is part of the pull of the story - both have pasts that have either left them damaged or won't exactly let them go. So watching them try to work together, add a bit of romance into the mix (though the world does seem to be against them there too) while figuring out who to trust will have you glued to the pages of A SENSE OF DANGER!
If you want spies, intriguing characters - some you can trust and some you can't but you just don't know which ones until the end - a lot of action and danger then get your hands on A SENSE OF DANGER - and get lost in this world.
