Romance Suspense

Anna Albertini was really looking forward to the holidays. Time, parties and presents with her family; time, parties and presents with her co-workers; and certainly time, parties and presents with her man - Aiden. Instead, her life-long stalker is back, her grandmothers are not happy with their matchmaking attempts and she's afraid to ask what next when it comes to Aiden. Will they really become an item or just a few fiery nights here and there? On top of all that there is a SANTA'S SUBPOENA to deal with - apparently one of the Santa's belonging to the Kringle's Club just might have killed another Santa.

SANTA'S SUBPOENA is exactly why I love author Rebecca Zanetti. She writes whimsical but real world tomes that give you a chance to escape, laugh, love and sit on the edge of your seat. Anna doesn't go looking for trouble but it certainly finds her. As a young girl, she was kidnapped by Jareth Davey, who was set free on a technicality and continues to stalk her. Her hero was a teenage Aiden and always had a piece of her heart but now, it is so much more. Aiden is a DEA agent and his job takes him away a lot, often for days at a time, which is part of what has Anna questioning how they can make a relationship work out.

The characters of the Anna Albertini Files series are amazingly real, with a number of them reminding readers of someone they know. The sisters Tessa and Donna; the grandmothers, one Irish and one Italian; Aunt Yara and the new addition to the family - Violet (you have to read SANTA'S SUBPOENA to get her story) and the newest private detectives - the elderly wild women, Thelma and Georgiana, all with vivid personalities that add laughter and depth to this book.

As for what happens with the deceased Santa you will have to follow along with Anna's other misadventures to get the full effect of her investigation. There is a bit of a mystery behind the conception of the Kringles and the Santa in trouble takes the brunt of a twisted plot that comes from the murdered man. There is also the everyday life of our intrepid lawyer which sometimes just goes haywire through no fault of her own.

Sorry, I cannot say more - you know spoilers are bad! If you want a holiday read, that is filled with danger, intrigue, Santa's, family, secrets, a rescue of a young girl in trouble, and some really steamy moments, and a number of mishaps that leave our heroine a bit bruised then you need SANTA'S SUBPOENA. Sit back and enjoy a fabulous holiday read!

SUMMARY

So Much for Peace During the Holidays

Anna Albertini has her hands full during the holiday season. Her boyfriend Aiden is back in town after being undercover across the country for the last three months, and his sudden over-protectiveness is a little too much. In addition, Nonna’s latest matchmaking scheme has been so far thwarted by the two most stubborn candidates alive, and Nonna is out of patience and bringing out the big guns. Anna is forced to both protect her sister and run interference, when she’d like to jump in and find a happily ever after for everyone instead.

To add to her already hectic life, her life-long stalker is about to make a move and doesn’t hide that frightening fact, although Anna is more than ready for him. In fact, she’s willing to draw him out to finally bring him down—regardless of the consequences. Finally, Santa has been arrested and charged for murder, needing a good lawyer. Who would arrest Santa? Anna can’t let this stand. It’s a good thing Christmas is a time of magic and miracles, because she’s going to need one.
