Thriller Crime | Romance Suspense

Agents Savich and Sherlock are married to each other and work as FBI agents for Savich’s team the CAU. They’re taking on several cases that will put them in danger and split them between New York and Washington DC. Olivia Hildebrandt’s CIA team’s last mission in Afghanistan went wrong when the agent they were to help get out of the country is found out and killed. A missing team member and a flash drive put Olivia’s life in danger. Enter Agent Savich and his team. Olivia and Savich must now work together.

Mia Briscoe is a reporter doing a story about a young charismatic politician running for New York City major. Mia is still dealing with the loss of her college best friend who disappeared seven years ago never to be seen again. Agent Sherlock, sent to New York City to consult on a different case, gets caught up with Mia’s investigation that may just lead to finding her missing friend. These determined women along with the high skilled member of Savich and Sherlock’s teams just may end up in a vortex of lies, danger, and murder.

Catherine Coulter brings back her beloved Sherlock and Savich FBI agent characters in VORTEX for another round of intrigue, danger, and suspense as they try to solve the cold case of a missing college student from seven years ago. They’ll also take on the case of a missing CIA agent and the incriminating evidence on a flash drive that may solve the recent failure of a mission gone wrong. These agents work alongside their fellow agents and the strong women who are determined to see that justice is done. VORTEX takes the reader into the arrogance of several psychopaths who think they’re smarter than the average man. Ms. Coulter takes these wonderful characters on the journey of their lives and helps them work through the danger and suspense that just may take more lives. This novel is well written and keeps you wondering if the suspects will get away with their heinous crime or will they be outsmarted.

VORTEX is the twenty-fifth book in the suspenseful FBI Thriller series and the reader can only hope there will be more intrigue and danger again soon. Catherine Coulter does it again with this book full of bad guys with major egos and who think they outwitted the heroes when in fact these bad guys have walked into a trap, they didn’t even know was set for them. VORTEX by Catherine Coulter is a must-read for any fan and a great way to be introduced into the lives of these special FBI agents and the people they help. You won't be able to put it down.

SUMMARY

In the latest installment in Catherine Coulter’s #1 New York Times bestselling FBI Thriller series, agents Sherlock and Savich find themselves dealing with powerful pieces of the past that could have dire consequences in the present.

Seven years ago, Mia Briscoe was at a frat party with her best friend Serena when a fire broke out. Everyone was accounted for except Serena. She was never heard from or seen again. Now Mia is an investigative journalist covering the political scene in New York City, but she hasn’t given up trying to find out what happened to her friend that night. When an old photo taken at the frat party gives her clues, Mia realizes she knows just where to look. She enlists FBI agent Sherlock’s help to uncover a sinister string of events going all the way back to that disastrous party. But some very powerful—and very dangerous—people will do anything to keep the past buried.

CIA Operative Olivia Hildebrandt is a team leader on a mission in Iran to exfiltrate a betrayed undercover operative. She’s nearly killed by an exploding grenade and saved by a team member. After leaving Walter Reed Hospital, not only has that team member disappeared but two men come to her house to kill her. Savich believes their attack on Olivia is a direct result of the compromised mission in Iran. What intelligence was at stake? Who betrayed them? Savich quickly finds he is now a target himself and unseen enemies will stop at nothing, including murder.
