Nadia has a really big problem. She is a private investigator who loves what she does but when an old family friend asks her to look into a murder case involving her son, there lies the problem. The victim was a much-loved friend of the local motorcycle club. Nadia soon finds herself involved in this case whether she wants to or not. How could she know that she would find someone waiting for her?
Trade had lost his lover and the mother of "his" children. He never expected to find someone who could fill the empty parts of his heart until he starts seeing Nadia. However close they become, Nadia is wary... First, she is investigating the murder and not telling him and, to top it all off, she is afraid that she is only a substitute. When the truth comes out can there be forgiveness or will this new love fall apart?
CUSTOM LOVE by Chantal Fernando is a riveting read. Trade is not a member of the Knights of Fury MC, just brother to Temper, the leader. But that doesn't mean readers don't get to meet up with past fan favorites in that series as they work at the shop or come visiting at various times.
Trade is an awesome character. As the single father to his late girlfriend's (who was soon to be his fiancee and wife) children. He has put them ahead of everything so he can make their lives better after their loss too. He is back to work at the bike shop, "Fast and Fury," and trying to move forward. The children are the most amazing characters of them all, they are well balanced with some tears, a little anger, laughter, pranks, and the expected meltdowns, but filled with a lot of love.
Nadia is also intriguing. She knows this investigation will hurt Trade, but because of the family friend's closeness to her, she feels she has to try. At one point we see her planning to say she couldn't find anything and let it go, but then she does find out a few things and everything spirals out of her control. Watching the forgiveness on both sides--he makes a couple of pretty big mistakes in their relationship too--gives readers a warm feeling.
The bad guy in CUSTOM LOVE just might take readers by surprise. I was stunned, and am usually very good at second-guessing an author. Well done, Ms. Fernando!
If you love a mystery, romance, good dialogue, and fun characters, add in a man trying his best to be the best, a woman true to herself, a touch of MC men and women (who will right a wrong) then CUSTOM LOVE is what you need to read.
Nadia has always been in charge of her life. As a private investigator, she makes her own hours and only takes on cases that she wants to work on. But when a family friend asks her to look into a case, she instantly regrets it—it hits far too close to home.
The last thing she wants to do is rip open old wounds. Especially Trade’s, the single father she’s been spending time with. It isn’t long before she’s falling not just for him, but for the kids he’s trying so hard to protect.
But the little voice in Nadia’s head tells her that something isn’t right, and she’s determined to find the truth. Using her connections to the Knights of Fury MC and the Fast & Fury motorcycle garage to gather evidence, Nadia uncovers evidence of a conspiracy that will leave everyone shaken—and force her and Trade to do whatever it takes to keep their new family safe.
