It wasn't in Beth's life plan for her husband, Howard, to have an affair with Gina who is Beth's yoga instructor who lives next door. Nor was it part of her plan for him to move in with Gina and to die shortly afterward. Then things got worse.
The story is narrated alternately by Beth and Gina and readers get to know them quite well. They are very different people who had one thing in common and that is Howard. Now they are both dealing with circumstances no one saw coming. Making peace with their new present is complicated.
The author brings to readers a unique story populated with quirky characters. Beth's relationship with her neighbors/friends is interesting, to say the least. Filled with witty dialogue and Beth's wry observations, HOUSEWIFE CHRONICLES is a cleverly written and engrossing book. Highly recommended.
SUMMARY
Her husband's affair coming to light two weeks before his death should have been the worst thing to happen to Beth Cartwright that year. But being a widowed, single mom in a community of upper-class housewives is proving to be far more difficult.
Living next door to her husband's mistress and her former yoga instructor-Gina Thompson, has Beth wanting to pack up her teenage kids and get the hell out of the neighborhood. But when she becomes a suspect in her husband's death, she needs to rely on her husband's mistress and the rest of her quirky neighborhood friends to keep her out of jail.
Housewife Chronicles is a dark comedy with a hint of mystery and a focus on unlikely female friendships.
