WILD SIGN is the glorious continuation of the Alpha and Omega series by New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs. We’re up to book 6 in the Alpha and Omega series (and up to book 12 in the related Mercy Thompson series which is about a different werewolf pack. This is hands down one of my top two favorite authors and series. I re-read both the Alpha and Omega series Mercy Thompson series at least once a year, because I just can’t get enough of their yummy paranormal fantasy goodness.
As much as I adore Mercy Thompson and her brassy attitude that won’t quit, Omega wolf Anna Cornick and her mate Charles are my absolute favorites. Anna survived brutalization at the hands of her first pack when she was first changed to a werewolf. Charles helped Anna to rescue herself, and she’s been plowing forward with her quiet badassery ever since. Charles and his wolf side, Brother Wolf, are such a perfect match for Anna, and I love the beautiful bonds between Brother Wolf, Charles, and Anna. Their mating continues to deepen in richness, and it makes me so content to watch them grow together.
Here, too, we see more of Charles’ father’s second mate, Leah. Leah has been the evil stepmom for all of the two werewolf series to date. It’s fun to see Leah’s backstory and to experience her coming into her own here. Charles and Anna are dispatched to help the FBI investigate a missing community in the remote mountains of North Carolina. Soon Leah is in the thick of things with them, helping Charles and Anna battle the mystical and powerful magic of evil godlike The Singer in the Woods.
WILD SIGN is intense and action packed. There are big changes and huge reveals here that will leave Briggs’ fans salivating for the next book. I literally could not put this book down once I started reading, and Briggs’ WILD SIGN kept me up all night until I could finish breathless and elated.
