Then, Rachel discovers her former fiance, Jacob, also works for Ms. Geraldine. Can Rachel handle all this
From the beginning, there is an undercurrent in the narrative. There is tension between Rachel and Jacob. Ms. Geraldine's selfish relatives all have ulterior motives for visiting her. Strange things start happening and Rachel begins to struggle with her memories of the past.
Rachel is a compelling and interesting character. She is compassionate and understanding. Except for when she is arguing with Jacob, she measures every word and does her best to be considerate. Jacob is different in that he tends to be more direct and bossy. Compromise is not something that comes easily to him. As the story moves along, he questions if he ever really got over losing Rachel all those years ago. Could there still be something between them? Ms. Geraldine is a proud and wise woman. Can she handle all that her family wants of her?
AMISH SECRETS is a beautifully told engrossing story. Romance, family, mystery and danger are blended together perfectly. This book is well worth reading. Highly recommended.
