A COLDWATER WARM HEARTS WEDDING is a charmer! Coldwater, Oklahoma is a quaint and friendly small town where everyone knows everyone else. Heather Walker has lived there her entire life. She loves her job as a surgery nurse at the small Coldwater Cove hospital, The next surgery scheduled is for Shiley Evans, the mother of her BFF, Lacy, Facing surgery for a cancer diagnosis, Shirley is eager to have it over and begin her fight against the dreaded disease. She has important things to do. Plan a magnificent wedding for Lacy and Jake. She has so much to do to get it to be perfect. That is her goal. A perfect wedding for Lacy and Jake.

Shirley is surrounded by her close family. The only family member missing is her son, Michael. A decade ago he and his father had a serious quarrel and George Evans ordered his son out of the house and never to return. Michael obeyed and other than a few postcards home, he wandered the country searching for a talent that would offer him success and security. He found it when he formed a tech company he called "MoreCommas" and it became huge and very profitable. . He set up an office with employees in New York City and became a very wealthy man never sharing this news with his family. He works non-stop, has no romantic interests, and only wants to grow and take his company public. When he gets word from his BFF, Jake, that his mother is facing surgery, her drops everything, gets on his "bad ass" Harley and roars back into town to be with his beloved mother.

As Shirley battles cancer, the family slowly but surely welcomes Michael back into their fold. Michael, who has always had feelings for Heather, nicknamed her "Stilts" because of her long, lovely legs, feels his emotions grow stronger when they meet again. A slow friendship begins to build as they get to know each other. Heather, who has always known Michael as "a bad boy" during their school days, is surprised to find him to be caring, warm and loving. Michael is with his mother very often and does tender things such as sending her a box loaded with assorted wigs to cheer her.. When he hears about a cousin of Heather, Levi, who is facing death because he can not locate a donor kidney because of his rare blood type, Michael steps forward and donates his. It gives Levi a second chance and Heather is deeply touched. Michael has admitted his success in "MoreCommas" and tells how he has relocated his staff to Coldwater, so he can continue to build his company and still be close to his mother and family. (and Heather?}

It has been said, "You can never go home". I think A COLDWATER WARM HEARTS WEDDING is a sweet tale of going home, finding your roots, second chances, and finding your forever love. Family ties are strong and sometimes humorous. Jake and Lacy's wedding plans are short-circuited. The long-unsolved death of Heather's sister, Jessica, is clearly settled with a few twists and turns to this reader that surprise. Lexi Eddings is a new author to me but one I will seek out to pursue. She hits the mark and I give her 5 stars. You will love it too!

SUMMARY

“A unique take on what it means to go home again.” —Kristan Higgins, New York Times bestselling author Everyone longs for a place to be loved and accepted, warts and all. And Coldwater Cove has its share of warts! But while this cozy corner of the world is home to just about anyone who wants to put down roots, the way has been barred to Michael Evans. Mike's dad saw to that some ten years ago when he ordered him to leave town and never come back. But when Michael learns his mother is battling breast cancer, not even the animosity between him and his father can keep him away. Of course he didn't figure on getting roped into being best man at his sister's upcoming wedding, but as long as Michael's back in town, he figures he’s got a second chance with the girl who got away—Heather Walker. Long-legged Heather has had a love/hate relationship with the town bad boy ever since he christened her “Stilts” in middle school. She was voted most likely to succeed. Michael seemed destined for the state pen. Even so, she hopes there's more to him than leathers and a Harley, for his family's sake if nothing else. But while her fascination with him grows, a decade-old secret involving a member of her family threatens to tear them apart...
