William Cuyler Thorne is old-money Savannah, a leader in society; but he's much older than society knows. He's a vampire, old-school in some ways, thoroughly modern in others. William is secretly bringing his contemporaries to America to get them away from the old European vampires and the likes of Reedrek, his sire.
Then a transport yacht turns up with the crew and passengers dead or missing. William knows Reedrek has come to America to claim his rights as sire and to begin a bloodbath no one in this century could imagine. With his sidekick, Jack, a good old boy who's only been a vampire since the Civil War, and the help of a voodoo priestess, along with a vial of the blood of a voodoo queen, William sets out to end the reign of terror Reedrek has begun. Along the way, they get help from a magician/illusionist, a top-run leading man out of Hollywood and a national champion stock car driver -- all vamps William has brought to America.
THE VAMPIRE'S SEDUCTION was a real treat to read. Different from any vampire story I've read lately, it snagged my interest at once and kept me glued to the pages until the end. I can't wait for the story to continue. The characters are totally fresh and immediately likable, which left me yearning to learn more about them and the rest of the story. Pick this one up the first time you see it; I don't think it'll stay long on the shelf. An excellent read!
