I was overjoyed and honored with the opportunity to read and review DANCE AWAY WITH ME.

DANCE AWAY WITH ME touches on too many auspicious moments in her characters’ lives to mention.  I wouldn’t want to minimize the experience of this immensely powerful, enjoyable and creative tale of two people who find themselves at an unintended crossroads in their lives.

Wait until you meet and experience Ian and Tess. Tess looking for peace and healing. Ian looking to reconnect with his artistic soul. Both wind up in Runaway Mountains in Tennessee.

Tess is a midwife with big-city experience. That life wore her down and with the loss of her husband Trav she needed to escape. Tess yearned to be more than that poor young widow. So off she went to a cabin in Runaway Mountains. Looking for salvation and peace after the traumatic loss of her young husband Tess finds herself dancing with abandon in the hills surrounding her little cabin. Lots of work needs to be done on that cabin but first Tess needs to figure out how to fix herself. For now, she is in her own self-imposed prison of grief.

Looking to jumpstart his faltering art career Ian Hamilton North IV goes to his renovated schoolhouse in Runaway Mountains with his muse Bianca. Bianca is a free spirit – troubled in her own way – but outgoing and friendly – the absolute opposite of the man who accompanies her to this small town for her sake. Ian is a much more interesting character. He got his start as a street artist. The fact that his family is wealthy and influential just makes Ian more intriguing. His street smarts got him into trouble but his artistry made him a force in the art world.

Ian discovers Tess during one of her uninhibited dances in the woods. Well, he doesn’t actually have to search far to find her – loud music leads the way. Neither is happy about this intrusion on their seclusion and peace. Both Tess and Ian want to be left alone. They are equally affected by their pasts and the lack of privacy.

Tess wants to be known as something other than a tragic figure. Ian needs to get away from the pressure to perform. To both Runaway Mountains just calls them. Both Tess and Ian are alike in more ways than they would admit. Tess can’t turn her head away from anyone needing help. Ian is unable to admit that he too takes care of his people.

DANCE AWAY WITH ME is about taking chances to open yourself to more. Move past one's insecurities and take bold steps toward a better future.
