I thought I was at least aware of many UFO conspiracy theories until I read ALIEN SECRETS. Be prepared to do some googling, although Ian Douglas provides enough background for most readers to understand what he’s referencing. The complexity of the world building is breath-taking, especially considering the scope and breadth of space and time explored. I’m normally not a fan of Nazi conspiracy theories, but Ian Douglas does a marvelous job at fleshing out his characters as well as the events themselves.
And the aliens… I don’t even know where to start with the aliens except that the mind of Ian Douglas is obviously a fascinating place! Some of his creations are Stephen King horror-worthy, while others are both fascinatingly unique and quite unexpected. It took a little longer to meet the aliens than I would have liked, but the wait is well worth it!
ALIEN SECRETS is the first book in the Solar Warden series and is a fascinating take on the theme of alien visitation. Ian Douglas does a marvelous job at blending together the past, present, and even the future as he crafts a science fiction story very unlike any other I’ve read.
