Returning home is at times bittersweet. That is the case in COWBOY SUMMER. Jessica Bailey’s return isn’t one of pleasure. Of course seeing her dad Heck is wonderful but Jess is heading home to try and get her dad to change his mind about selling Diamond Jack, the family ranch. Jess has avoided going home to Wyoming. Not really fond of her stepmother Molly. And perhaps even more daunting seeing her ex-boyfriend Cade who is now married.
Cade is the one Jess left behind to follow her dreams of seeing the world.
Jess now works for a resorts company and has her sights set on their new property in Hawaii. Imagine living in Hawaii. Certainly dream worthy but is that where she would find home.
Streaming vf Wyoming is degrees apart from a beach site. But it is home. And when Jess goes home she finds the situation unsettling at the least. Seeing Cade again is unavoidable. He is helping out at her family ranch. Cade has stepped in while Jess was busy climbing the corporate ladder. Life at Diamond Jack has changed over the years while Jess was away. Heck and Molly face decisions that are not making Jess happy. Unfortunately, Jess has to face the truth that her return may not match her expectations. She was hell-bent on holding onto the family ranch.
Well things are going to change now that Jess is back in Wyoming although ostensibly for two weeks of vacation. Life is full of eye-opening moments. In COWBOY SUMMER Jess, her dad Heck, stepmom Molly and Cade are going to experience some doozies.
Joanne Kennedy is nothing short of relentless in her storytelling. These characters literally jump off each page with their dialog. Words say so much. COWBOY SUMMER is chock-full of outstanding scenes that depict the changes these characters have to face. For their own good and perhaps these changes will provide the basis for a happily ever after future.
