Romance Science Fiction | Romance Erotica Sensual

THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG is part of the “Cyborgs on Mars” sci-fi romance series by Honey Phillips. Although it’s part of a series, I feel like THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG works as a standalone story as well. Major Wyatt Eaton was a soldier, and because of some government shady X-FILES type stuff, got turned into a cyborg and transported to a new society on Mars. His new identity is W-246 and he has trouble with any memories of his pre-cyborg life on Earth. Madam Cherry is a brothel owner with a heart of gold who has been through enough to fill several lifetimes. In THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG, Cherry and Wyatt meet but he has no memory of having been married to her on Earth. There is an understandable amount of angst given the circumstances, but Honey Phillips balances that with adventure, humor, and romance.

In general, science fiction is not my favorite sub-genre of romance. I often feel like the action and adventure outweigh the emotional and essentially human aspects of the story. I prefer a gripping character-driven story. THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG is very much a character-driven story equal parts sweet and intensely erotic. The setting of Mars in this series has a very “wild west” feel that will appeal to fans of cowboy romances as well as fans who enjoy futuristic themes. These cyborg heroes are hotties with heart, and Wyatt is no exception. This story is told from alternating perspectives, which gives the reader a better understanding of the two main characters. This is extremely helpful because it’s some time before Wyatt figures out that he was married to Cherry in his pre-cyborg life. He doesn’t understand why Cherry tries to keep him at a distance at times. He doesn’t know how she is extremely hurt that he doesn’t remember her, and she doesn’t know why he disappeared on her. The action and danger in this story come from the seemingly sinister and secretive GenCon corporation. The heroes in THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG try to find out what their dark purpose is and try to undo any damage done by them. There is a “rebel forces versus the shadowy overlords” aspect to this story.

THE MAGNIFICENT CYBORG is futuristic fun with hot cyborg wild west lawmen and a sizzling romance. Each of the heroes and heroines in this book have weathered a lot and are incredibly strong in different ways. And I love Maverick! He stole the show and was one of my favorite supporting characters. I wish I had a mechanical horse like him. I look forward to Honey Phillips’ next red-hot romance. I especially hope to read a story featuring J-100.

SUMMARY

A woman with a troubled past. A cyborg with missing memories.

W-246 is one of the last cyborgs sent to Mars to work on the terraforming project. While he doesn't remember how he became a cyborg, he has accepted his new role as a territorial judge. Until he encounters Cherry. He knows he could never forget a woman like her - so why does she seem so familiar?

Madam Cherry is through with men. In her experience, they either use her or break her heart or both. Instead, she concentrates on running a successful business and is content taking care of her girls. Until she runs into Wyatt.

Their brief, passionate marriage ended years ago when he disappeared - killed in the line of duty. Or so she had assumed. Now she finds out that he is very much alive.

The fact that he is a cyborg doesn't bother her; the fact that he doesn't remember her? That could destroy her.

Can Cherry and Wyatt recapture their love in the midst of a budding rebellion, surrounded by dangerous new enemies?
