Thriller Serial Killer

In a town named Baywood, Wisconsin, the next ten days are going to be tough for Detectives A.L. Mckittridge and Rena Morgan. For the last month, every ten days a woman has been murdered. They have the next ten days to figure out who the next victim may be and stop the murder from happening. So far three women have been murdered. it is always ten days apart from each other.

Both of these detectives have personal lives with a lot of drama. A.L. is divorced from Jacqui and they have a daughter, Tracy. Rena is married to Gabe and they have been trying to have a child, but Rena also feels that she and Gabe are falling apart. They both know that they have to put their lives on the back burner and try and solve this case.

When a lead in their case gives them the name of a woman who could possibly be the next victim, A.L. and Rena are desperate to find her. The end of their ten-day deadline approaches - will they figure it out before it's too late?

TEN DAYS GONE is such a great thriller by Beverly Long. From the beginning, I had no idea who would be behind these murders. I know I'm reading a great mystery when I can't figure it out and it's not until the very end that everything is revealed. I also enjoyed this book is because it is set in Wisconsin, which is where I live and I recognized all of the towns that were mentioned. There are several side stories in this book, none that affect the outcome. Just enough to kind of get your mind off the murder and a little bit more information into their personal lives. I highly recommend it.

SUMMARY

They know exactly when he’ll strike… They just have to find him first.

In all their years working for the Baywood police department, detectives A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan have never seen anything like it. Four women dead in forty days, each killed ten days apart. With nothing connecting the victims and very little evidence, the clock is already counting down to when the next body drops. A.L. and Rena will have to act fast if they’re going to find the killer’s next victim before he does.

But identifying the killer’s next likely target is only half the battle. With pressure pushing in from all sides, a promising breakthrough leads the detectives to Tess Lyons, a woman whose past trauma has left her too damaged to appreciate the danger she’s in. Unwilling to let another woman die, A.L. and Rena will put everything on the line to keep Tess safe and end the killer’s deadly spree once and for all—before time runs out again.
