THE FATE OF THE TALA appears to be the very last of the whole Tala universe books by Jeffe Kennedy. It’s listed as The Uncharted Realms Book #5, but it’s really the last of a sixteen book series, including novellas. THE FATE OF THE TALA jumps right into the action, assuming the reader remembers all of the many tales preceding it. Readers may be well served to brush up on the previous stories before reading this completing this book.
Our three intrepid sisters are united for the final war to save the world of the Tala, the magical shapeshifters who have been sore-pressed to fight back against the forces of evil arrayed against them. High Queen Ursula, the oldest of the sisters, is a mighty warrior and a wise (if impatient) ruler. Ami is the youngest and fairest of the sisters, who is the avatar of Glorianna, the goddess of love. But the main focus of the final book is our middle sister, Andromeda who is a burgeoning sorceress. Andi must figure out how to fulfill her gods-proscribed role as the avatar of Moranu and save the Tala from enslavement and death.
All of the characters of the many proceeding books are showcased here as they gather for the final many-pronged battle. This series has starred many capable and strong women, and I love all the empowered females who leap off the pages in full color. There are so many ties of family and of love which unite the sisters and their compatriots. It’s beautiful to see the final happy ending of safety and love come about.
This has been a lively paranormal romance series with plenty of intrigue, fantastical war, and magic. In the end, it is about the triumph of women with their vast compassion, bravery, and true hearts. Kennedy wraps up this far-reaching epic series with a stunning conclusion in THE FATE OF THE TALA.
The exciting conclusion of the story begun in The Mark of the Tala
An Uneasy Marriage,
An Unholy Alliance.
The tales tell of three sisters, daughters of the high king. The eldest, a valiant warrior-woman, conquered her inner demons to become the high queen. The youngest, and most beautiful outlived her Prince Charming and found a strength beyond surface loveliness.
And the other one, Andi? The introverted, awkward middle princess is now the Sorceress Queen, Andromeda—and she stands at the precipice of a devastating war.
As the undead powers of Deyrr gather their forces, their High Priestess focuses on Andi, undermining her at every turn. At the magical barrier that protects the Thirteen Kingdoms from annihilation, the massive Dasnarian navy assembles, ready to pounce the moment Andi’s strength fails. And, though her sisters and friends gather around her, Andi finds that her husband, Rayfe, plagued with fears over her pregnancy, has withdrawn, growing ever more distant.
Fighting battles on too many fronts, Andi can’t afford to weaken, as she’s all that stands between all that’s good in the world and purest evil.
For Andi, the time to grow into her true power has come. . .
