Romance Suspense
Tony Parish faked his own death to escape from the vigilante family he had been adopted into. Now he has second thoughts because of the woman he loves. He cannot accept his freedom at THE COST OF HONOR.
Honor Silva is healing from the loss of her mother but finds that the activism her late mother dealt with has left her with danger at her door. All Honor wants to do is run her cocoa farm, hold her adventure tours and enjoy life. It isn't going to happen. The threat is in the form of a powerful someone that is not about to be taken down by a nobody. In walks the perfect person to help keep her safe, only to do the job correctly he will have to come back to life to the family he ran from. The choice isn't easy but it is the only one he can make.
Tony Parrish, aka Lazarus Graves as he told Honor, escaped his adopted family of vigilantes by "dying" and he is afraid they will find out and come after him. It isn't seeing the family that he fears, it is their ability to mess with his mind and wipe out his memories that he doesn't want. When he realizes Honor is in danger, he does what he has to do to protect her. Even if he loses being himself in the process.
THE COST OF HONOR, the third of Diana Munoz Stewart's Black Ops Confidential series, is an amazing read. Tony and Honor are a fantastic couple and it doesn't take long for the both of them to become protective of the other. When his family does track him down, they are so in love and she is in so much danger that he is more than willing to allow them to fix him. Honor isn't about to let that happen and so the romance and fight for him begins. He even opens up to Honor in a way he had never told anyone, even his closest family members.
I have to admit that though I have read and enjoyed all this series, I still cannot fathom the family dynamic. They adopt these (Tony is the exceptions to the family) women who have been dealt a horrible hand in life, but instead of rehabilitation as we would know it, they turn them into fighting machines - vigilantes. They do go after the people who deal in trafficking or other dangers toward women, but I am not sure the ends justify the means.
That said, THE COST OF HONOR is an intense, suspenseful, romantic and quite steamy story with dynamic characters. It seemed to be a little heavier on the romance than the other two, but what's not to love about that. This is a stand-alone, but once you've read it, I think you will want to backtrack and pick up the other two by this fascinating author.

Now he must give up Honor to save her
