All you need is a pair of scissors. Matt Bergstrom makes some of the most amazingly detailed, and somewhat miniature, versions of houses and landmarks possible to construct. He uses his talents as a graphic designer, photographer and artist to illustrate detailed scenes. His drawings are gorgeous, and so I wasn’t the least bit surprised at the wonderful miniature sections depicting all parts of a haunted house including some ghoulish inhabitants. There is definitely a sense of whimsy in the CUT & ASSEMBLE HAUNTED HOUSE. The pages are great quality matte finish card stock. Each piece is outlined in solid lines to show where to cut, and then there are the dashed lines for folding. Every piece is accompanied with rather simple instructions and some construction steps give you several options. You can choose whether to go the easy way or really challenge yourself and your imagination, and go with some of the surprise elements.

The house is easy to construct with either glue or double sided tape. However, you do need a sharp pointed pair of scissors and a tweezer - especially an adult when working with some rather smaller pieces. CUT & ASSEMBLE HAUNTED HOUSE by Matt Bergstrom is designed for ages twelve and up, grade six and up. If you have a very patient young teen with nimble fingers, then it might work for a slightly younger child. This is a great project to make on a weekend as a family, to decorate the home for Halloween. I estimate the finish size to be about ten to twelve inches high and the same in width.
