Simply put, CHRISTMAS COLOR BY NUMBER by George Toufexis is a gorgeous adult coloring book. CHRISTMAS COLOR BY NUMBER contains forty-six fabulously detailed holiday scenes on perforated unbacked pages. What that means for a newcomer to adult coloring books is that you can remove the design you wish to colorize without destroying another page. The paper is great quality drawing stock but, as always, I would caution using gel ink pens especially in small areas of detail as they might tend to bleed. However, color pencils are a great choice. Back and front inside covers have photos of colorized examples of each of the forty-six designs complete with a color guide – or you can, of course, use your own imagination and choice of colors. George Toufexis suggests using hard color pencils which will not bleed into surrounding areas as I have already noted. Other than that, there are no additional instructions other than to just have fun. Dover Publications are renowned for quality craft books and I have quite a collection of these in my home library. Coloring books are still very popular and this latest one is about the Christmas holiday season and chock full of designs for everyone from teens to adults. For the price - it might even be a good purchase for a younger child between the ages of seven and nine as a challenging art activity. CHRISTMAS COLOR BY NUMBER is a fun and colorful look at the brightly lit Christmas holiday.
