JACKSON by Emily March is a total delight from beginning to end. Lots of talk about the circle of our lives. Lots of talk about the next chapter of our lives — imagery at its best interwoven with a glorious story about the trials and tribulations of life. JACKSON by Emily March is a delight to our literary senses. This is my first Emily March book, and it certainly won’t be my last.
Jackson is coming off a bad turn of events. Marriage over. Poor decisions resulting in more angst then he ever anticipated. Perhaps that was one of the glaring factors. Jackson had shot from the hip and thought about the repercussions too late. Now his life was just not where he had ever expected.
Coming to Redemption had given Jackson some sense of calm which he desperately needed. Now it was a matter of building a new life. His songwriting career was in the dumps, and he thought his ideas were a thing of a past. He needed a new muse. Redemption might just hold the answer.
Caroline has decided to relocate to Redemption in an attempt to reinvent herself. Used to having decisions made for her, this was a chance to follow her own dreams. Opening the Next Chapter Bookstore was going to give Caroline’s life that restart she was hoping for.
Jackson and Caroline are pretty perfect for each other. They both are gun shy about starting any sort of relationship and lonely to boot. Caroline has a heart of gold which feels used up and broken and so she is reluctant to try again. Love hurts too much. And that’s pretty much the way Jackson feels as well.
Coming to Redemption has a bit of twist of fate mixed in with some leap of faith for both of these amazing characters that will remain in your heart long after the story is over. JACKSON is that kind of story. Caroline and Jackson are fated to be two of your favorite current day literary characters. Emily March outdid herself when she created these two.
