Suspense Psychological | Thriller Domestic

Alice has found love for the second time. Alice's first husband Tom disappeared while he was away with some of his friends. Now Alice has found Nathan and they have been married for several years. Alice has one daughter Sophia with Tom and her daughter Livvy with Nathan. Before Tom's death, they had opened an interior design business, AT designs. Now Nathan works with her at this business.

Beth is Alice's best friend and they have known each other for about three years, but to them, it seems like a lifetime. Their two young daughters are best friends. While things seem to be going great, Alice starts noticing strange things. First, a huge bunch of flowers arrives, but the card is to Rachael... who is that? Alice calls the florist but they tell her that this is the correct address and that the person who charged it was Nathan. Some of the charges made are huge and Nathan denies everything.

Alice pours out her feelings to Beth, hoping her friend will help her find the answers. Beth is also having problems; her daughter wants to know who her father is. Both are shocked when at Livvy's birthday party, Beth finally meets Nathan. Nathan almost passes out. Seems that he knows her, but how? As the two compare notes, there is way more to Nathan that either one of them expected.

THE FIRST MISTAKE by Sandie Jones is fantastic. There are so many twists to this story. I was hooked from the first page until the end. Jones shows how sometimes the person you loved is really not the person they claim to be. Alice who thought she had everything, finds out that her life was nothing but a big farce.

THE FIRST MISTAKE has it all - mystery, suspense, and romance!

SUMMARY

From Sandie Jones, the author of the Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick and New York Times bestseller The Other Woman, comes an addictively readable new domestic suspense about a wife, her husband, and the woman who is supposedly her best friend.

THE WIFE: For Alice, life has never been better. With her second husband, she has a successful business, two children, and a beautiful house.

HER HUSBAND: Alice knows that life could have been different if her first husband had lived, but Nathan’s arrival into her life gave her back the happiness she craved.

HER BEST FRIEND: Through the ups and downs of life, from celebratory nights out to comforting each other through loss, Alice knows that with her best friend Beth by her side, they can survive anything together. So when Nathan starts acting strangely, Alice turns to Beth for help. But soon, Alice begins to wonder whether her trust has been misplaced . . .

Her first mistake could be her last.
