Mystery Historical

Veronica Speedwell is back in a new adventure where she has to solve the mystery of a bride that disappeared after the wedding. Together with her colleague Stoker and his brother are they guests on a remote island off the tip of Cornwall. And, all the other guests on the island where there when the bride disappeared three years before. Could it be that one of the guests is a killer or did she disappear of her free will? If so why? A DANGEROUS COLLABORATION is an interesting mystery that takes place on a remote island. Just my kind of setting. There are plenty of original characters and it seems that one of them could be a cold-blooded killer. There is just one problem, no body. What happened to the blushing bride? All I can say that the ending, the revelation of the mystery is a bit surprising. And, that's all I can disclose because you know spoilers. I love reading the books in the Veronica Speedwell series. This is the fourth and they just keep getting better and better. If you have read the previous books, then you know about Veronica Speedwell's special origin. If you have not, well then I suggest that you start from the beginning because all the books are worth reading. I almost forgot, of course, there is a bit of romance in the book. I mean both Stoker and his brother are on the island together with Veronica...and that's all I will say about that...

SUMMARY

Veronica Speedwell returns in another adventure filled with secrets and betrayal from Deanna Raybourn, the New York Times bestselling author of the Lady Julia Grey Mysteries. Victorian adventuress Veronica Speedwell is whisked off to a remote island off the tip of Cornwall when her natural historian colleague Stoker's brother calls in a favor. On the pretext of wanting a companion to accompany him to Lord Malcolm Romilly's house party, Tiberius persuades Veronica to pose as his fiancée--much to Stoker's chagrin. But upon arriving, it becomes clear that the party is not as innocent as it had seemed. Every invited guest has a connection to Romilly's wife, Rosamund, who disappeared on her wedding day three years ago, and a dramatic dinner proves she is very much on her husband's mind. As spectral figures, ghostly music, and mysterious threats begin to plague the partygoers, Veronica enlists Stoker's help to discover the host's true motivations. And as they investigate, it becomes clear that there are numerous mysteries surrounding the Romilly estate, and every person present has a motive to kill Rosamund...
