Elena Popov believes she is obeying her father and rescuing her best friend who was forced to marry Victor Sokolov when she plans to assassinate the man. Her plan to kill the cruel mob boss is quickly thwarted by the most infuriating man she has ever met... Roman Garinovich is sent to escort her to the compound. Things fall apart quickly as she finds herself FALLING FOR THE MOB SOLDIER.
Roman doesn't trust Elena, but as the best friend to Alexandra, he is willing to give her a chance. Though his gut tells him something is not right with her sudden defection. Soon, despite his best efforts and the contrary woman, the soldier is torn between the woman who has stolen his heart and the boss he loves like a brother and will always protect.
FALLING FOR THE MOB SOLDIER, the second book in Leslie North's Sokolov Brothers series is an action-packed, heartbreaking Russian mob-themed read. Elena simply trying to obey her father's commands but when she finds Alexandra is happily in love with her husband then things do not add up. Add in the infuriating, sexy as all get out Roman and she is one confused woman.
This is a page-turning read with a number of twists and turns that will catch you off guard. I also enjoyed the snarky dialogue and the intense dislike between Elena and Roman until, of course, their true feelings explode on the pages. I think the only problem I had with FALLING FOR THE MOB SOLDIER is once Elena finds out the truth of her own father's guilt, why did she not turn to Roman for help? Except for that blemish, this is an amazing read, with a lot of action, intrigue, danger, romance, and the expected HEA from Leslie North.
