Alafair Burke wrote an amazing psychological suspense that is at the top of my list of the best thrillers I have read this year! THE WIFE had me up late at night and waking early in the morning just to finish it. Burke knows how to keep her readers hooked with the surprises you find in this novel. Each chapter reveals a new shocker or brings new questions to the reader. Throughout the book, Burke not only covers the present of the characters' lives, but the past as well in a way that does not confuse the reader. It is in this way that the reader finds out the secrets beyond each page that leaves them immersed until the end.
