Thriller Medical

Philip is an EMT. Ten years ago he was a surgeon who gave up his job to become an EMT. Lately, Philip is having a lot of bad luck. He can't sleep which is causing problems with his work. Philip is also having problems at home with his wife, they have been trying to have a baby, but it seems like everything is all work and no play. Jana is a prosecutor who has a lot of hidden secrets. One of the big secrets right now is she is hidden Danilo a criminal who has escaped. Why is Jana doing this, Danilo has information on her that dates back to when she was younger. Hansen and Mia are the police that are investigating several murders. Not just normal murders, but the type that the victims have had parts removed from their bodies while still alive. Could all these murders be connected? The only person that they find is Philip; it seems that he has known something about all of these victims. In fact, he worked with most of them. So what is the connection? While SLOWLY WE DIE by Emelie Schepp, I found I was getting confused on who was who. There are several different stories that all lead back to one another. This is the kind of book that you really have to read slowly, and at times might have to go back and reread to keep the characters straight. That being said, I also felt that I couldn't wait to finish it to figure out exactly what was going on and see how all of the storylines concluded. SLOWLY WE DIE keeps you guessing, and I don't think anyone will figure out the ending of this book. It was very surprising!

SUMMARY

AN ACCIDENTAL SLIP OF A BLADE… A tragic incident on the operating table leaves a patient damaged for life and leads a young surgeon to abandon his profession as a physician… Now, years later, a series of senseless, gruesome murders are rocking the same medical community. THEN MURDEROUS REVENGE… The weapon? A surgical scalpel. But who exactly is preying on these victims? And why? What does this grisly pattern reveal? And who will be the one to stop it? Special prosecutor Jana Berzelius, who has her own dark secrets to hide, is in charge of the investigation. What she can’t know, until she is finally closing in on the murderer, is just how her own mother’s recent death is intimately connected. This intricately plotted and relentlessly suspenseful medical thriller keeps everyone guessing until the bitter end.
