LONE STAR PRINCESS by Lenora
Worth is the second book in the Castles of Dallas series. I enjoyed reading this
contemporary romance novel with all the intensity and intrigue that UNDERCOVER PRINCESS, the first
book in the series, brought. We finally get to see Annabelle grow up
and mature into a lovely, strong-willed woman. While this is the second
book in the series, I feel you would understand the characters
backstories and family drama better if you read UNDERCOVER PRINCESS first. They really need to be
read in order. Worth's writing lets us experience the changes and
maturity that Annabelle goes through from an attention seeking party
girl to a young woman who is determined to make a fresh start. Of
course, all this seems possible until Johnny makes his way back into
her life. He always had an attraction for her rebel side. Johnny has
gotten Annabelle out of quite a few scrapes throughout their history
together. Even though his attraction is stronger than ever, he cannot
act on his feelings because Annabelle is clearly a different woman now.
LONE STAR PRINCESS is written in
such a way that makes you feel as if you are talking to a friend. The
characters are relatable with real-life drama and everyday problems
that many face in their day to day lives. A lovely written romance novel
that is sure to stay with you. A romance story that is full of drama,
family craziness, sisterly love, and a second chance at the one who got
away. The Castles of Dallas
series keeps getting better with each book. LONE STAR PRINCESS would make a lovely beach read
or a great summer read.
Annabelle Castle is a rebel without a cause…until her
stepsister, the head of the glamorous Castle Department
store, offers her the chance of a lifetime. Too bad the
opportunity to finally play a role in the Castle's future
comes with strings attached—the man who gets under her skin.
Former cop Johnny Darrow is head of security for the
Texas-based Castles. He excels at his job and nothing gets
to him...except Annabelle. Even as he dragged Annabelle out
of many public relations disasters with the paparazzi, he
knew there was so much more to her than the
headline-grabbing, rich girl. Now that she's matured and
determined to turn over a new leaf, he finds her
irresistible. She's smart, creative, and makes him feel
things he hasn't after a personal tragedy.
When Johnny's assigned a job as Annabelle's bodyguard, he
must push his feelings aside. Can Johnny keep his focus to
protect Annabelle or will his feelings for her put
everything at risk?
