Inspirational Romance

I really enjoyed this romance novel by Tammy L. Gray. I experienced waves of emotions while reading this unique novel. MY HOPE NEXT DOOR centers around two people who are hurting. They both have made mistakes and struggle each day with the choices they made in their past. This romance story is a lovely example of what happens with two people with troubled pasts come together and choose to see good in each other. The story is full of struggles, hope, love, second chances, and friendship. Katie was considered a trouble- maker or mean girl while growing up. Now that she has grown up, she has completely changed and regrets the things she did in her past. The problem with change is that not everyone believes you. People in her hometown still cannot believe her and do not trust her. This includes her parents! Katie has to work hard to convince everyone that she really has had a change of heart. During this time, she meets Asher. He reminds her that no matter what hope is still possible. Asher encourages her to stay the course, work hard, and soon she will show everyone she has really changed. Katie is battling with all of this and the reason she came back home. Her mother is battling a disease and needs her help. Many people can relate to moving back home to help a family member or loved one. While Asher has a different set of personal problems to deal with. All of this drama makes for a truly great romantic read.

SUMMARY

Former bad girl Katie Stone can feel the weight of her reputation settle over her as she drives home for the first time in years. Feeling deeply guilty about her past mistakes, Katie wants to do the right thing for once. But the small town where she grew up is not nearly as forgiving as she’d hoped. Despite it all, she’s determined to help her parents cope with her mother’s recent illness, and Katie finds a surprise ally in the man next door. Asher Powell never minded being the son of a small-town pastor until a recent breakup leaves him wounded by lifelong members of his church. He remembers his new neighbor as a mean-spirited high school troublemaker, but he senses that her newfound faith and desire for forgiveness are sincere. Through an unexpected friendship, two people from different worlds find peace, hope, and a second chance they never dreamed was possible.
