Thriller Psychological

Ten years ago, Erin left her hometown because of a secret that would affect her family, as well as her former best friend, Roisin. Things began to change between them when Erin started dating Niall, Roisin's brother. But when Niall is killed in a tragic car accident, Erin feels she must leave town.

Now a decade later, Erin is back to take care of her ailing father, and Roisin can't wait to confront her with the lie that has been hidden away for so many years. Erin knows she must do whatever she can to keep the secret, but things are made more complicated when she realizes Roisin knows the truth. Being back home, Erin runs into some old friends from high school including Kerry, who is also back in town after being away for some time. He and Erin start up a friendship and soon realize there may be something more...

Roisin will do whatever she can to make sure Erin's secret comes out. Roisin feels that if she can make Erin tell the truth, it would help her mother who, still devastated by the loss of her son, is drinking her life away. Erin knows that if this secret comes out it would change everything for her family, too. Will Erin still be the girl who lied? Or will the secret finally come out after ten years?

THE GIRL WHO LIED by Sue Fortin is an engaging story about family and friendship. I really enjoyed the back and forth in the book, from present to the past. We find out what caused the accident and who was really to blame for it all. I also have to say that I don't usually read the back pages with more information in books. In this book, I did read them to learn more about the author, and I did find out some of the reasons for the actions that take place this book. Overall very interesting reading!
