Y'all. THIS BOOK.
Sarah MacLean has been clear DAY OF THE DUCHESS is a cathartic reaction to the 2016 Election. (If you haven't read it, her piece in the Washington Times about hope and tenderness and groveling is worth your time.) She wanted to craft a hero who was absolutely, 100%, feminist, and still make him realistic to the definition of that idea in the regency era. Personally, as I am not a historian of that era or particular about detailed accuracy if the story is good enough, I think she nailed it.
Sera and Haven are cemented in my Top 10 couple list for this year, and the closing scenes are so perfect that I have already re-read this book - which I rarely do.
DAY OF THE DUCHESS is a gift. Do yourself a favor and receive it.
