As usual Jennifer Ryan writes another great story in a new series, MONTANA HEAT: ESCAPE TO YOU. She always gives her female characters inexplicable strength and courage. The females always go through horrendous situations and show tremendous determination in getting through to the other side. This story involves an undercover DEA Agent living out in a remote area who is slowly healing from several physical injuries as well as some mental ones. In the middle of a Montana blizzard he finds a little boy that leads him to a world famous actress that has been missing for more than a year. The details surrounding her missing years are the makings of what you would see on the big movie screens. This is a psychological novel about a sadistic serial killer, involving mental and physical abuse. But as usual with a Jennifer Ryan novel she always shows hope with her characters. You will always find these women to be smart, strong and determined.
Undercover DEA Agent Beck "Trigger" Cooke has been going through some dark moments due to his last few assignments, one of which involved saving the lives of his brother and future sister-in-law. So while going through this dark time he has isolated himself out on his Hope Ranch. So during a blizzard he finds this little boy out in this storm who leads him to world famous actress, Ashley Swann, who the world has not seen for over a year. While helping Ashley and the little boy heal Beck learns all the details behind their ordeal and his protective instincts kick in. What this precious little boy and this smart, determined woman did for this agent who was living in darkness is remarkable.
I really enjoyed this story that shows how one person can change another person's perspective about life and give them a whole new outlook. I recommend any novels by Jennifer Ryan. Once you read one you will read others by her.
