Romance Paranormal

Dimitri Kashnikov is a red wolf shifter, a fighter, bodyguard and tracker. He has a speech impediment so to make up for this, he fights in whatever format needed to get the job done and shut people up. Jaycee Bordeaux is a leopard shifter who sometimes follows the rules but when it comes to Dimitri she is willing to break a few for her RED WOLF. They work together and fight together and when asked to infiltrate a group of shifters suspected of capturing and enslaving other shifters, they are ready. Dimitri always had a thing for and claimed her but is waiting for Jaycee to accept, as he will not force her. This gets harder, especially as they are preparing to act like a pair for the next mission. RED WOLF is author Jennifer Ashley's Shifter's Unbound series at its best. She has taken two shifters who were introduced in a previous book and given them their own story, which is something that her readers awaited. I loved Dimitri and felt so bad for his stuttering, but noticed that once things moved on with Jaycee and his past became clearer then that lessened. The past came back to him when he finds the enemy of the story and gets revenge. Jaycee was kick-butt in the past and nothing changed in this one, but she gave me a hard time for seeming so clueless on Dimitri's true feelings. Well, in the end the HEA came for them so the bumps in the road only made for a superb read. Past characters come back and new ones join this shifter world filling out the storyline and hopefully leading to more books in this series. If you are looking for hot shifters, some collared some not, crazy bad guys that the hero and heroine are more than happy to take down and a romance with just the perfect amount of steam then RED WOLF is the book you need.

SUMMARY

A man is only as strong… Red wolf Shifter Dimitri has fought his whole life for respect. It is claimed that red wolves are tainted with coyote blood and therefore not pure. He may not be skilled at verbally defending himself, but as a bodyguard, tracker, and champion of the fight clubs, his fists are always ready for some rough and tumble. However, he’d prefer a roll in the hay with the woman who’s been his oldest friend. …as the woman who’s got his back… A spirited leopard Shifter and a fellow tracker, Jaycee Bordeaux has no problem forging a mate bond with Dimitri, but soon the two are called to infiltrate a rogue group bent on enslaving Shifters. Jaycee may have defended Dimitri from taunts before, but they now face a more lethal danger—one that not only threatens the future of their people, but also their love.
