UNDER PRESSURE is the first thrilling installment in Lori Foster's new romantic suspense series. Featuring an elite security agency, don't be surprised to find an abundance of hot, highly-trained heroes who just might fall in love.
The first is Leese Phelps who is one of those men who takes their job very seriously. When tasked to watch over Catalina Nicholson, Leese won't allow his attraction to her make him lose focus. But it becomes a losing battle when Catalina constantly brings up the sexual tension between them and then it becomes a problem when he can't stop thinking about it.
I enjoyed Leese's character a lot. He's quite the typical alpha male. I love his loyalty and his determination. It's sexy and I admire characters like that a lot. He's definitely the strong and silent type that you see in a lot of books. Catalina was fun too. However, there were some moments when I thought "Really?" as she does a few things. It wasn't anything major that made me hate her, but since it was all in an effort to further the romance, I could let it go.
I like the way Foster was able to blend together the romance and the suspense plot. The romance still to me was the best thing about this book. The bad guys weren't ones that I completely hated but I could understand why they wanted her out of their hands. There are some good twists here and there and enough details there to make me excited about the next book in the series. While UNDER PRESSURE is technically a spin-off from the Foster's Ultimate series, I definitely think you can read this without having read that series. It works perfect as a standalone.
