Mystery

Frankie is an ER nurse and she loves her job. Her love life, though, is not so great. Her third engagement has just been called off. Frankie gets a call from her sister Charlie who is in the hospital with really high blood pressure, due to her pregnancy.

Frankie returns to her hometown of Stillwater to help her sister. When Frankie arrives at the hospital, she finds Clem, an elderly man having a heart attack. With the ER swamped with a bus accident, Frankie does what she has been trained to do. She gets Clem stable, and he is admitted to the hospital.

Finally, she checks on Charlie who is beside herself, she is afraid that she is going to lose the baby. Frankie does her best to ease her mind. The next day, Frankie goes to check on Clem only to find out that Clem has passed away in the night. Now for some more bad news, since Frankie was not licensed to practice at Stillwater. The head of the hospital is very upset because the family is suing.

No matter what Frankie does, she keeps running into brick walls. Now someone is out to get her. Can Frankie figure out what is going on in Stillwater? Will she find the time of death?

I loved TIME OF DEATH by Lucy Kerr. It had so many unanswered questions but by the end everything is tied up in a nice bow. Lucy Kerr also shows how family really is the most important thing in life. I fell in love with all of the characters in this story. I have a feeling there are going to be more mystery and suspense books by Lucy Kerr. I can't wait. If you want a fast read, one that you really can sink your teeth into, this is the book for you.

SUMMARY

It’s been twelve years since ER nurse Frankie Stapleton fled the quiet banks of Stillwater, but with her sister’s pregnancy taking a dangerous turn and a string of failed relationships in Chicago hanging over her, Frankie is back–and hoping to put the past behind her. Within minutes of arriving at Stillwater General Hospital however, she ends up saving a man’s life, only to have him turn up dead hours later – and the hospital blames Frankie.

Her instincts say Clem Jensen didn’t die of natural causes, but the more she digs, the more she discovers too many suspects, a few surprising allies, and some hard truths about the first man she ever loved–and left. Now the boy she once knew is a skeptical sheriff’s deputy, her family's hardware store is in jeopardy, and the rift between Frankie and her loved ones is deeper than ever.

With her career–and future–on life support, Frankie must catch a killer, clear her name, and heal the wounds of the past in Lucy Kerr’s enthralling mystery debut, Time of Death.
