THE GREEK'S READY-MADE WIFE is a typical Harlequin Romance title. As reality is not what we're peddling here, the author gets to take readers on a flight of fancy into a world populated with characters who could have walked out of the latest episode of your favorite telenovela. It's a delightful book, telling the story of Kyra and Cristo and their marriage of convenience.
So much of books like this are about adjusting expectations, right? It's one of the reasons knowing the trope in a given book is so helpful. This one is a category romance with a marriage of convenience. If you are here for neither of those things, then sashay away, as this book will frustrate you beyond belief. However, if those things scratch your particular itch, then one- click away, as I think you'll find this sumptuous story a true delight.
Sure, Kyra's mother is ridiculous (all good telenovela villains are!), and Cristo's revelation of his love for Kyra is a little oddly timed, and Kyra is a little too perfect, but it works together to form this delightful book equivalent to candy. It takes a certain kind of talent to write stories like this, and Ms. Faye has it in droves.
If you're looking for a fun, escapist read to warmer climates with beautiful people, then THE GREEK'S READY- MADE WIFE is for you.
