Grace Archer and her daughter Frankie have been in hiding
for the last 8 years on an Alabama horse farm. Grace is a
single mom who is an exceptional horse trainer and some
say has the ability to talk to horses. Frankie is an
eight year old prodigy with a love of horses all her own.
Grace is an ex CIA agent who has been in hiding from and
mid-eastern mad man named Marvot because he needs her help
to tame "the pair" and recover a buried treasure. When
Marvot locates Grace in Alabama she and Frankie's lives are
turned upside down again. Marvot will do anything and kill
anyone who gets in his way including Frankie.
The CIA refuses to help Grace relocate again -- they want to
use her and Frankie as bait to trap Marvot. Jake Kilmer
arrives and offers his help to protect them and Grace has no
choice but to accept his help. However, because Jake trained
Grace as an agent and they became lovers and now she doesn't
know if she can trust him again.
This book started off with a bang, literally and never
slowed down. This is one of the best books I have read by
Ms. Johansen. The villain is evil, the sexual tension is
electrifying and the suspense is riveting. The book is
well worth the read.
